Sikhism Worldview
Who am I?
As a Sikh, I believe in one God, and the scriptures, Guru Granth Sahib. I am a human, and the truth and divine spirit resides in me, so I Should take care of my body. I have equal rights to my family and friends. I watch out for the five vices, ego, anger, greed, lust and attachment, and I wear physical symbols to outwardly show and remind me of my faith.
Where am I?
I am living in the world, where I am not to be ashamed of my faith or get caught up in worldly things. I am to be selfless and non discriminatory. After I die, I will be reincarnated. God will judge me after I die, and if my soul is pure enough, it will be allowed to stay with him.
What's wrong?
God created everything, so all life is good, however, if I get too attached to this world, I will be forever reborn into it through reincarnation.
What is the remedy?
The goal is to have a pure soul so that my soul can be with God when I die. I can have a pure soul by acting in regards to the scriptures, and by being selfless and true to my faith.
